Clasping Coneflower

Rudbeckia amplexicaulis

While quite similar to Mexican Hat, this annual differentiates itself due to its unique habit of clasping its leaves. The showy Rudbeckia grows great in soggy areas like ditches and rain gardens. It can also take part-shade which is fantastic for more difficult areas lacking bright vibrant color.
