Giant Coneflower

Rudbeckia maxima

This is one amazing rudbeckia! Early in the season the blue/green foliage looks like cabbage but soon transforms into a 6-foot tall flower! With dark, cone-shaped centers and drooping, yellow petals, this plant can be used as a specimen or in the back of a perennial bed and adds great contrast with its silvery blue leaves. The birds love the seeds when they mature late in the season.
